LATINO - Stands for Latinos Associated Together Informing, Networking, and Outreaching. Our Latino community for years has been working hard to succeed. Our founders came to this great nation with nothing but a heart full of dreams and a mind full of determination. When we first come here we are received with a hand full of uncertainties and barriers after barriers.
Our first barrier is learning a new language. Did you know that in many of our communities there are opportunities for free English classes? Did you know that by learning English you may open a whole world full of opportunities for you and your family? Learning English in this nation is very important for your financial and personal growth. We at LATINO believe in guiding our community to those free resources where you can go and learn English either online or at a community school to overcome that first barrier.
As immigrants in this nation, we try to over come all the obstacles thrown at us the best we can. However, a big percentage of our Latino community is found with the biggest obstacle of all! That is being here undocumented. Being undocumented should not stop you from succeeding although it may make it more difficult. It is a shame that many undocumented immigrants that have been here for 15, 20, or 30 years contributing to this great nation are still without a pathway to legalization.
LATINO is fighting for your right to a status! We will not stop until we succeed! However, we also believe strongly in preparing our Latino community for when that day comes. We want to be able to give you all the resources right here so that you can start preparing. Making sure you have your ITIN number so that you are able to pay your taxes, applying for a driver’s license if your state permits it, starting your own business, planning for your retirement, obtaining live insurance, and investing your money in the right accounts for you and your plans.
Do not let people tell you that you can’t because of your legal status. Make sure that you take the right steps to inform yourself. Let the right people help you!
